One of the key features of the Dr. Prepare battery is its low-temperature protection. When the temperature reaches 23°F~41°F, the battery will stop being charged, and when it reaches -13°F~5°F, the battery will stop discharging, making it suitable for harsh and rugged environments. The maximum charging voltage is 14.6V, and the recommended charging current is 20A for optimal performance.
The battery also has low voltage cut-off protection, automatically shutting off when the discharge voltage is lower than 11.1V. It is important to note that using a lead-acid battery charger to charge the LiFePO4 battery can cause irreversible damage to the battery's lifespan. Instead, Dr. Prepare recommends using a lithium battery-compatible AC to DC charger, solar charge controllers, or solar panels.
With a 10-year warranty, Dr. Prepare offers professional knowledge and service to solve any customer issues. The batteries can be connected in series and parallel to create 12V, 24V, 36V, or 48V systems, with the ability to wire up to 16 batteries for a powerful 20.48 kWh home battery bank system.
The improved active BMS (Battery Management System) protection optimizes the circuit, handling cell balancing, over-current cutoff, over-charge cutoff, over-discharge cutoff, high and low-temperature cutoff, and short circuit protection. This results in increased performance and a longer lifetime, with the LiFePO4 battery offering 3,000 cycles at 80% deep discharge, providing around a 10-year lifetime of daily use.
Compared to sealed lead-acid (SLA) batteries, the Dr. Prepare 12V LiFePO4 batteries offer 2 to 3 times more power output, with a maximum of 1,280 Wh. These batteries are suitable for a wide range of applications, including fish finders, solar power, electric wheelchairs, camping, home alarm systems, and scooters.
It is important to note that a 60A circuit breaker (not included) must be used to protect the battery, and the battery should not be used as a car battery, starting battery, or golf cart battery. Each battery must be fully charged separately with a 12V lithium charger before being connected in series to ensure the balancing effect.
For recharging, a 12V (14.6V) 5A/10A/20A/50A lithium battery charger or a solar panel with a solar charge controller is required. Lead-acid battery chargers cannot be used to recharge the Dr. Prepare LiFePO4 battery.
